Stage Fright is for Rookies: A Cancer Survivor Rocks the Mic
Steve Roger
For two many years, I've been the backup singer in the greatest love song of my life – my marriage. My wife deserves the lead vocals, and frankly, I never thought I had my own melody to share. (Maybe that's why I haven't written a peep!) But then, cancer threw a spotlight right on me. Turns out, even a guy who feels like a background note has a story to tell.
The good news? The doctors are giving me a standing ovation (prognosis is looking good!). The bad news? This blog might be a bit of a jam session, evolving as I do. But hey, haven't the best concerts been the ones where the music takes you on a ride?
So, grab a seat (or crank up the speakers!), because I'm about to share my experiences, from facing down cancer to celebrating life's little victories. We'll laugh, we might cry (but hopefully mostly laugh!), and maybe, just maybe, you'll find a little inspiration in the chorus of my story.
This might be my first solo, but it definitely won't be my last.
